The Max Vargas Collection is an excellent collection of his finest commercial works. The illistrations and the commentary offers excellent backgroung on his life and body of work. The only thing I found wanting was the large collection of Vargas art that invariably made it onto the noses of many warbirds in WW2 and Korea. There's little refernece to this.

I think that the Vargas Girls are not only excellent for art combining painting this brush and painting with airbrush, but also the expressions of the girls, as well as other details make them the most sexy and the bost beautiful works that we can imagen.

This is an amazing book. Initially, I had intended to just look at the pin-ups to gain inspiration for my photography. However, within moments of reading the text, I was completely gripped by the story of Alberto Vargas and his experiences with Esquire and Playboy magazines. For just the images alone, the book would rate 4 stars, but the wonderful biography pushes it over the edge into 5-star territory for me. There are plenty of images, including glamour nudes, so have no fear--the images are there and they are wonderful. Warning: buying this book will make you want to buy more books with pin-ups. This is a great starting point for pin-up images and for learning about Alberto Vargas, creator of the Varga Girl.

Book in excellent condition—great value—delivered quickly.

Love vargas and retro art. I liked that this had quite a bit of information (text) about Vargas himself since I knew next to nothing about him and, while I was also a bit disappointed that there were not more of his famous works, I have to admit that the title is probably a fair indication of what is contained within. I'm sure serious fans that can't get enough will surely want to see these lesser known but still beautiful art works. One thing I really would have preferred is a slightly smaller book --- not a fan of coffee table size which won't really fit nicely anywhere else --- so you can appreciate the pictures but is less awkward on the bookshelf and hopefully could bring down the price just a tad, too.

This book is a compilation of the life and work from alberto Vargas.

Very big edition, well written, and with a reasonable price. Sadly, it could have included more of his artwork; but at this moment is the best and biggest compilation from his work that I have found.

Very good for a perfect gift or if you are a pin-up fan from the 30's to 70's

5.0 out of 5 stars Alberto Vargus a short review.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on December 28, 2011
A short review of this fine book, the book is quite large in size, which allows some really nice size reproductions. It showcases a large number of his best works.Mostly pre finish paintings, pictures done before the finished version. None the less marvellous, A fine book for anyone interested in the work of Alberto Vargus.

I you loved Playboy magazine in its early days, you always enjoyed viewing a full page of Vargas's work. So classy so beautiful. This book is well worth the price for Playboy magazine lovers, who love art and style as only Vargas can portray.

Beautiful book, lots of detail, interesting writing, and great selection of works. My only complaint is that it was about half a centimeter too tall to fit on my bookshelf!
