My 20 month old son loves this book (of course I always sing it), we had gotten it from the library and it became his favorite. He even "sings" along for twinkle twinkle. The one I received was used as I expected but in better condition than the one from the library, and under $5. Super satisfied.

Editorial Reviews
From Publishers Weekly
With Amanda Wallwork's Sleep Songs, readers get two books in one. "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" comes first; like Long's, this edition provides a fuller version of the traditional text. Youngsters can turn the board book upside down for the second song, "Golden Slumbers." Here, Wallwork's buttery hues contrast with deep blues as the child drifts off to sleep. Glittering foil accents sunflowers, stars and moon.

How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.

- Reviewed in the United States on July 26, 2010I've been reading this to my son at bedtime since 10 months old, and we're still enjoying it months later. I picked this up at a book swap for it's beautiful visuals. My son turns pages rather quickly, but the pictures are so vibrant and interesting to look at that he'll pause long enough for me to finish reading that line in the song. It goes through 3-4 verses of Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star (which ended up being my son's favorite song and the first one he ever sang after reading this book) and Golden Slumbers (the Beatles sings this for part of one of their songs by that name). This became a great part of our bedtime routine, starting with reading the book, then singing the song from the book, then letting him "read" it in bed with dim lights until he fell asleep.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 21, 2003My son received this book as a gift when he was 1. I still read it regularly to him at 28 months. The book features Twinkle Twinkle Little Start plus a few verses you probably don't know on one side. Then flip the book to read Golden Slumbers, which may be new to you as it was to me.
The illustrations in this book are dazzling, literally. Not only do the figures feature the bold colors and contrasts toddlers love (not too busy), but each page also has a holographic overlay with a star or moon. There are also some cut-out pages adding a tactile dimension to the book. The celestial theme is carried throughout the book which has no religious overtones.
I have only one very small gripe about this book. The rhythm is lost in one of the verses of Twinkle Twinkle ("She would not know which way to go, if you did not twinkle so"). You have to sort of swallor the word "She" and accent the word "would" to make it work.
Otherwise, I adore this book. It makes a lovely shower gift so parents can start to read to their children from day one.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 18, 2005The fabulously beautiful illustrations are the highlight of this book. Pictures of children at bedtime merge with colorful celestial images to create a feel of dreamland. The familiar lullabies are quiet and sweet, perfect for bedtime. There are 3 verses of 'Twinkle, Twinkle.' And you may know 'Golden Slumbers' from the Beatles song that uses part of it (modified) in it's intro ("sleep now darling, do not cry, and I will sing a lullaby..."). My 15 month old loves this book so much that she recently started carrying it all around with her, and has even insisted on napping with it.
