About the Author
Lemony Snicket had an unusual education, which may or may not explain his ability to evade capture. He is the author of the thirteen volumes in A Series of Unfortunate Events, several picture books, including The Dark, and the books collectively titled All the Wrong Questions.
Brett Helquist's celebrated art has graced books from the charming Bedtime for Bear, which he also wrote, to the New York Times-bestselling A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket to the glorious picture book adaptation of Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol. He lives with his family in Brooklyn, New York.
Michael Kupperman has done many illustrations for such publications as Fortune, The New Yorker, and The New York Times. He frequently writes scripts for DC Comics. This is his first book.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 10 January 2017Bought this as is was the last in a series and my son and I loved listening to it whenever we were in the car (a few years ago) He is 17 now and it was a lovely trip down memory lane for us both to listen to this story again.
The story is excellent and follows exactly the same vein as the others. With the same drawn out enunciation that makes it unique.
It is SIX hours in total as it is unabridged, but as we were actually in the car for the whole six hours (over two days) it was not a problem.
Was nice to finally finish off the series. Great story from start to finish and you won't get any spoilers from me but was a fitting end.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 November 2020I started reading this series when it was first released and I’ve only just got around to finishing it. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I always liked how much it taught and excited about the many experiences and facts one could learn in their lifetime. I preferred it to many other children’s books because it was about real things, about how to be capable and do things for yourself without grown ups.
Without spoiling it, I think the ending is wonderfully honest.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 February 2014This book is quite confusing for people who have not read the full series. I enjoy this book immensely and thank Leo for showing me the series. The secrets are revealed and again left at a cliff hanger. It was a relief to finish the series and I want to have more. You discover more characters in the Baudelaire family past as well as find the actual book in the story. And the fungi of death makes a huge come back and does a terrible thing.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 September 2017I'll admit that I was quite reluctant to finish this series because it definitely hasn't been a favourite of mine, I think most of the books I have rated were 2 or 3 stars... However I'm glad that i decided to pick it up because this was probably a close favourite of all 13 books. I am actually quite a fan of open endings and this one definitely will keep me wondering. Even though I would still have liked some of the mysteries solved.
Also I know these are quite short books but it does feel like an accomplishment to have read a 13 book series in 9 months so go me!

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 October 2020This was an amazing storyline. I loved the adventure, comedy and sorrow. I am still confused on certain things but overall it was the best!! I also learned from this tht to always trrut your aunt's suggesions and judgments and you may have a wonderfull book to read (speaking from experience here) XD
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 September 2013Lemony snicket is a good author and his books are brilliant this is the last book of his series of unfortunate events books ,so read from the first book otherwise it will not make sense . A brilliant book which ends on a cliff hanger.10+
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 February 2017This particular book is very mysterious. It includes the mystery of V.F.D and keeps you wandering about the next chapter in the Baudelaire's life. Who knows what will happen to them next...

5.0 out of 5 stars Fim
Todos os livros da série são muito legais. Este é o mais triste, porque é o fim. Descobrimos vários mistérios e que mais e mais histórias poderiam ser contadas.
