I loved this box set! It was even better than I expected, because it’s in a “book style”, and it has pages with the characters pictures on them, and a description of each episode! VERY cool! Completely worth my money, since Sex And The City is one of my very favorite shows!!! No complaints!

    This was and always will be one of my very favorite shows. And, if it's one of yours, you are guaranteed to love this set. You can put in any disc at any time and it's a night out with the girls every night of the week. It includes all six seasons and every single episode plus other commentary as well. I will never part with this set. It's a staple in my television time. That's quite a lot considering I don't watch that much T.V., but I find this show and this set to be totally worth it! I can't say it enough...I LOVE THIS SET!!

    Hi all SATC fans! Like the the first two reviewers, I wondered what the difference between this collection, currently on sale for $109.99, and the "Collector's Edition" on sale for $196.99. But since all I really wanted was to have all the episodes on DVD I went ahead and ordered the cheaper set. When I received it today, I read the back and toward the end of the top paragraph it said:

    "Celebrate the show that explores the day-to-day - and night-to-night, world of single women in this, the definitive collector's edition.

    With that read, I wanted to see if I really got the "Collector's Edition" so I called my girlfriend who bought her "Collector's Edition" at the regular price of $300 back a few years ago to compare the difference. Good news! Sounds like they're the exact same thing! What I received in my $109.99 set is a pink velvet spiral binder with various color pictures of the ladies and scenes from the show and short summaries of each episode. The DVDs are nicely tucked away, by seasons, in pockets of thicker pages after the summaries. The pink velvet spiral binder comes in a plastic sleeve for protection from scratches, etc. There's no way, however, to see if this DVD set was made in 2007. Everywhere I looked said 2005. Oh well, I'll be happy if all the DVDs work!

    If you want to peek at what this set looks like I suggest clicking on the "Collector's Edition" for $196.99 and looking at Picture 4 of 9. It's the picture with the binder (closed and open) with the DVDs nicely scattered in front of it. That is exactly what I received today.

    When i first decided to buy the Sex and the City i was very excited when i found this complete series set. But when i saw all the review of people that have had problems with the DVD i hesitated. Finally i decided to go for it and i don't regret it.
    Even though it was brand new some of the DVD came with minor scratches. That is due to the poor manufacture design. I mean whoever thought that the sleeves were a good idea is dead wrong. Even if they would have charged a little extra they should have made it clip on's, there was plenty of space for it. Also the plastic that it comes in is soft. When this set first came out it was a hard plastic which it looks better.
    Thankfully i had no problems with the DVD at all. I was one of the lucky ones. The set is beautiful. I bought something called dskin. It protects the dvd, though it is a little expensive. I bought just what i needed online from Walmart. Since i don't plan to only watch this set ones with the sleeves the DVD can get scratched. If you get lucky and you have no problems with the DVD i recommend you buy a set of d_skin. If you decide to buy Good Luck.

    Diese Serie sollte dringendst als Anschauungsmaterial ins Ausbildungsrepertoire angehender Psychologen und Psychiater aufgenommen werden! Hier finden wir die Königin der Irren (Carrie Bradshaw), flankiert von ihrem hochgradig neurotischen Hofstaat, der einzig dazu dient, unter dem Deckmantel der "Freundschaft" Carries narzisstisches, egomanisches Auftreten, das auf eine schwere Borderline-Persönlichkeitsstörung hinweist, als "völlig normal" zu beglaubigen. Desgleichen andere Klassiker wie grenzenlose Gier nach Aufmerksamkeit, Aufmerksamkeit und nochmals Aufmerksamkeit (sei es um den Preis, die Bibel durch die Kirche werfen zu müssen!), Schuhtick, Sexsucht, Kaufsucht, Liebessucht - mehr oder weniger deutlich ausgeprägt allen Protagonistinnen eigen, die ihrer spirituellen Anführerin in Sachen Gestörtheit denn auch kaum nachstehen. Welche der vier Drama Queens auch immer man in die Klapsmühle stecken würde - man könnte unmöglich eine falsche treffen! Im wissenschaftlichen Fachjargon spricht man hier vom "Sprung in der Schüssel". Ganz zu schweigen vom bedauernswerten Mister Big alias Mister Plemplem, der ungeachtet seines nach außen hin souveränen, beeindruckenden Auftretens nichts unversucht lässt, sich ins Unglück zu stürzen, indem er sich auf Gedeih und Verderb an die jeweiligen Launen der Carrie Bradshaw kettet, statt das einzig Richtige zu tun: sich gemütlich vor eine Sportübertragung zu setzen und drei Kreuze zu machen, Carrie entronnen zu sein. Verkauft wird Mister Plemplems Anhänglichkeit dem gerührten Publikum als "die ganz große Liebe" - in Wahrheit sehen wir den Inbegriff der abhängigen Persönlichkeitsstörung vor uns. Mister Plemplem ist die ärmste Sau von allen. Wer mehr über das zerstörerische Verhältnis zwischen ihm und Carrie wissen will, dem seien die Bücher von Heinz-Peter Röhr ans Herz gelegt, beispielsweise "Das innere Gefängnis".

    Aber keine Bange! Von derlei finsteren, aber leider zutreffenden Betrachtungen abgesehen, lässt sich die Serie mühelos als amüsante Unterhaltung genießen, prickelnd wie Champagner, bunt wie der häufig bemühte Cocktail "Cosmopolitan". Zu verdanken ist das der sprachlichen Gewandtheit der Erzählerin aus dem Off, dem begeisternden, mitreißenden Wortwitz ihres Kommentars und der opulenten filmischen Detailverliebtheit, die von der Musik über die Garderobe bis zur Bewegung des letzten Komparsen in 300 Metern Entfernung hinten links ihresgleichen sucht und aus einem eigentlichen Blick ins verhängnisvolle Reich der Selbstzerstörung eine bonbonfarbene, zuckersüße Märchenwelt zaubert - ganz Traumfabrik Hollywood. Zu meinem Vergnügen bestätigte sich mein Verdacht, dass dergleichen nur Schwulen möglich ist - et voilà, Produzent ist der offen homosexuell lebende Darren Starr!

    Wasser in den Wein gießt allein das erbärmliche Authoring der DVDs, das, wie einige Vorschreiber bemängeln, erfordert, bei jeder einzelnen Folge erst Werbung für Paramount & Co. über sich ergehen zu lassen und jeweils einzeln auf "Play" drücken zu müssen. Eine Funktion "Alle Folgen abspielen" fehlt hingegen völlig. Ich kann mir kaum vorstellen, dass Darren Starr davon weiß. Und Paramount ist für mich hiermit gestorben.

    Dennoch kann ich nicht umhin, wegen des wirklich einzigartigen sprachlichen Hochgenusses sämtliche Sterne zu vergeben. Und an dieser Stelle eine dringende Warnung an alle Männer, zumal an alle ledigen: Carrie Bradshaw ist überall! Nicht von ungefähr erfreut sich die Serie größter Beliebtheit beim weiblichen Publikum. Borderline ist verbreiteter, als man(n) ahnt - nicht immer tritt die Störung so unübersehbar deutlich auf wie bei Carrie Bradshaw, zumal nicht am Anfang, wenn frau sich noch anstrengt. Also Vorsicht, denn an Männern gibt es grundsätzlich IMMER etwas auszusetzen. Sind sie durchsetzungsstark, macht es sie zu Armlöchern; sind sie freundlich, ist das erst recht nicht auszuhalten; setzen sie Grenzen, so ist das Anlass genug, diese unbedingt zu überschreiten; werden hingegen die weiblichen Grenzen überschritten, kocht frau vor Empörung und wirft mit dem Mittagessen um sich. Wollen Männer erklärtermaßen heiraten, ist ihre Nähe unerträglich; möchten sie Junggesellen bleiben, kann frau damit nicht umgehen und fühlt sich zutiefst beleidigt; renovieren Männer die Wohnung der Möchtegern-Prinzessin, werden sie zur selben Zeit betrogen, weil ihre Perfektion langweilt; wollen sie Kinder, dient das als Grund, sie zu verstoßen - doch gnade ihnen Gott, sie wollten keine! Ist ein gewisses Körperteil zu groß, so ist das schrecklich; ist es hingegen zu klein oder bewegt es sich gar nicht, bricht lautstarke Hysterie aus, denn Madame verzehrt sich nach Befriedigung. Aber wehe, ein Mann wollte zuviel Sex!

    Doch nichts, rein gar nichts wäre bei Männern unverzeihlicher als falscher Geschmack bei der Auswahl von Porzellantellern oder Krawatten. Zusammengefasst: Männer sind zutiefst verachtenswert, aber nichts kann begehrenswerter sein, als von ihnen einen Antrag zu bekommen! Denn so etwas wie Frauenbewegung oder Emanzipation mag zwar im Beruf stattgefunden haben, nicht jedoch im Herzen. Hier bewegen wir uns noch immer in der Welt von Humphrey Bogart und Lauren Bacall (oder Heinz Rühmann und Grethe Weiser!) und schreiben ungeachtet sprachlich brillanter Kolumnen und technischer Errungenschaften emotional das Jahr 1930, wo das histrionische Weibchen von seinem Tarzan gezähmt zu werden begehrt. Armer Mister Plemplem! Es scheint, als hätten die Protagonistinnen dieser Serie niemals aufgehört, 13 Jahre alt zu sein, wiewohl sie von ihren Männern ständig "erwachsenes" Verhalten einfordern. Nur wenn sie es bekommen, fließen hochdramatische Tränen.

    Dass diese Serie dank der meisterhaften cineastischen Kunst von Darren Starr & Co. auf brillante und äußerst unterhaltsame Weise den Eindruck erzeugt, pathologisch entartete Ichbezogenheit sei völlig normal, ändert leider nichts an dieser Tatsache und macht sie nicht besser. Also, Jungs: Augen auf bei der Partnerwahl! Schaut Euch alle Folgen dieser Serie hintereinander an, werft dabei einen verstohlenen Blick auf das weibliche Wesen neben Euch und fragt Euch zehnmal, ob ein schöner Sportwagen auf Dauer nicht doch glücklicher macht als eine noch so schöne Frau. Denn Carrie "Tochter des Satans" Bradshaw ist manchmal näher, als man(n) denkt...

    Arrivatomi a casa in pochissimi giorni, ho controllato eventuali difetti di confezione, contenitore e funzionamento dischi senza riscontrare problemi. Gli episodi sono catalogati in ordine e i DVD girano bene e non presentano errori rispetto ai titoli trascritti sul cofanetto.
    Per chi è abituato all'alta definizione, vorrei ricordare che tutti i dischi della serie NON SONO REGISTRATI IN BLU-RAY o tecnologie simili; se lo fossero, la spesa sarebbe molto più alta. In compenso, la qualità è quella di fine anni 90 / primi anni 2000; abbastanza lineare e con un filtro più che accettabile. In fin dei conti, se volete fare un bel regalo, mi sento di consigliare questo articolo

    Compré esta versión porque es más barata que la deluxe que es más bonita pero vale el doble. En español vienen una serie de capítulos, pero es verdad, que como decía otra comentarista de este mismo artículo, a partir del volumen 3 ya no te da la opción de escucharlo en español. Por tanto, si lo quieres ver en español, búscate otra colección mejor.

    Perfect DVD set, perfect packaging, classic show.

    I ordered this on Christmas day, it was shipped two days later and arrived two days after that by courier one day early! fantastic!

    It comes in a surprisingly small box and the case has a clip on the side and opens like a book, a DVD per leaf. It's perfect! there's a little card inside with a list of episodes on it, six episodes per disc and several per season. You get the whole collection and they are great quality as well. No faults, no problems, very happy.

    This would be an amazing gift for all fans of the show, a wonderful set to add to your DVD collection or even a great display piece. Colour is as shown in the picture and the box is very pretty in itself.

    I highly recommend this product.
