- Reviewed in the United States on October 22, 2015Once the basics of the Tarot are understood this book is useful for teaching many different spreads. As it says on the cover it is illustrated so the reader can see how to place the cards; a big help to people like me who need more than just written instructions. Any 78 card deck will work, so I wasn't limited to the Rider-Waite Universal set. The directions are general enough a person could probably use some of the non-traditional decks also.
- Reviewed in the United States on September 15, 2009This book is very good for people interested in extend his tarot capacities. I really recommend its contents. / The only thing I HATE of this book is THE SERIES TITLE: "COMPLETE IDIOT'S ...". What a lack of respect for the customers! If "dummies" is bad, yours is WORST! / To the so-called "marketing" people and "editors" of this books series: Your books will sell better if you do not offend possible buyers. I almost miss this book because of your "funny name" policy.
- Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2007I am really impressed with this book, I haven't had much chance to work with it for spreads yet, but the information it provides is exceptional for a book of spreads. I was really impressed with the section on colors & numbers of the cards - At the end it gives interpretations of all the cards upright & reversed with photos....... This is a top notch well made book I would recommend to anyone who wants all the information in one book.
- Reviewed in the United States on June 8, 2013I have a passion for learning and read everything I can get my hands on about whatever subject I have chosen to indulge in. This tarot book out shines them all. Choose this one over the author's "The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tarot". The only book you'll ever need to learn the tarot inside and out. Highly recommended.

- Reviewed in the United States on February 22, 2013I loved this book. I have taken classes and read other books. I thought this one was the best so far. It is a thorough, multi-level approach to learning Tarot.

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice book!
Among the the books that I read about tarot reading this is probably one of the best. I like how the authors give a positive way of reading even the most frightful cards, I really like their perspective. However I have to say some spreads are way too complicated for a beginner, and not much attention is dedicated to their explanation. Moreover I would have liked to see a part on "comparative reading", that is the interpretation of multiple cards when they come along together, which is especially important if you're reading a complicated spread.
Overall I believe this book is a valuable complement to learn tarot reading, and I learned a lot from it. The only thing is that since the authors are so clear in some parts I would have liked them to say more.
