About Wishlistr
What is Wishlistr?
Answer: Wishlistr is a web based wishlist that makes it easy for you to keep track of the things you want. You can share your wishlist with others, you can add, edit and delete items and you can sort your list using drag and drop. Wishlistr also lets you change the look of your list by choosing one several different templates.
Who's behind Wishlistr?
Answer: A small web studio called Digital Venues.
What do I need to be able to use Wishlistr?
Answer: An internet connection and a modern web browser, such as Firefox, Safari, Opera or Camino. Internet Explorer 6 will also work. Wishlistr also works best if you have JavaScript support turned on in your browser. Wishlistr does not support Internet Explorer 5.x and below.
How much does it cost to use Wishlistr?
Answer: Nothing. Wishlistr is completely free to use.
Your wishlist
How do I add an item to my wishlist?
Answer: Simple. Use the form on the edit page to add a new item. The 'Title' field is the only one that is always required to fill in, but if you'd like to you can also add a link and a comment.
How can I edit an item in my wishlist?
Answer: On the edit page there is a red link that says 'Edit' next to each item. When you click one of those links you'll be presented with a form where you can edit title, link and comment. Once you're done just click the 'Edit item' button and your changes will be saved.
How do I delete an item from my wishlist?
Answer: On the edit page you'll find a small icon with a trash can on it to the far right of every list item. When you click that icon you'll be presented with a message that asks you to confirm that you really want to delete the item. Click 'Yes' and the item will disappear from your list.
How do I change the look of my wishlist?
Answer: You can change the look of your wishlist by going to the template page and choosing one of the 17 different templates on offer.
Can I share the list with my friends and family?
Answer: Of course. Just give them the address to your list: http://www.wishlistr.com/ (your friends do not have to have a Wishlistr account in order to view it). You can also use our share tool to send out email with a link to your wishlist to all of your friends in one go.
What is a bookmarklet and how does it work?
Answer: A bookmarklet (also known as a favelet) is basically a JavaScript. By saving the bookmarklet JavaScript as a bookmark you can add smart functions to your web browser. The JavaScript in Wishlistr's bookmarklet makes it possible to easily add new items to your wishlist from any URL on the web. Let's say you're surfing a web shop and you find a nice product that you would like to add to your wishlist — just click the bookmark with the Wishlistr bookmarklet and you'll instantly be taken to a page with a form that lets you post a new item to your list. The URL of the page you came from will automatically be added to the link field and if you had any text on the page selected, that text will be added to the title field. When you click 'Add item!' the item will be added to your list and you'll be returned to the page which you came from.

What is RSS?
Answer: RSS is a standard format for delivering web content. By using an RSS-aware program (called an aggregator) you can keep up with all your favorite websites by checking their RSS feeds and displaying new items from each of them. Read more about RSS here.
Why doesn't the text on my wishlist look like it does in the preview?
Answer: Some of the wishlist templates uses a technique called sIFR (or Scalable Inman Flash Replacement) that replaces text elements on screen with Flash equivalents. Put simply, sIFR allows website headings, pull-quotes and other elements to be styled in whatever font the designer chooses without the user having it installed on their machine. In order for sIFR to work you must have Flash- and JavaScript-support turned on in your web browser. If you don't you will see the regular text instead. Read more about sIFR here.

What should I do if I forget my password?
Answer: Go to the login page and click the 'Forgot your password?' link. Use the form on the following page to retrieve your password.
How do I change my password?
Answer: Go to the 'Edit Profile' page and click the change password link. On the next page, use the form to change your password.
How do I change my user image?
Answer: Go to the 'Edit Profile' page and click the upload a new image link. On the next page, use the form to upload a new user image.
I've uploaded a user image, but I can't see it. What's wrong?
Answer: If you can't see your new user image even though it says 'The new image has been uploaded', it's probably because the old image is still cached in your web browsers memory. If you reload the page your new image should show up. If you're still having problems, please contact us.
What is "Remember me"?
Answer: The Remember me feature, which can be activated through the login page, makes sure that you don't need to login with your username and password each time you visit Wishlistr.com — we will remember you.
When using Remember me you shouldn't logout from Wishlistr — just close your browser or go to another website when you're finished. The next time you come to Wishlistr.com you will automatically be logged in and taken to the page you requested.
The remember me feature should only be used from your own or your family's computer. Never from a public computer (such as in a library or at school), because there is a risk that some one else, using the same computer, can access your account if you forget to logout.
How do I log out of Wishlistr?
Answer: By clicking the 'Logout' link located next to your user image on the top right corner of every page.
How do I cancel my Wishlistr account?
Answer: Use the form on this page to cancel your account.
What is OpenID?
Answer: OpenID is a system for authentication that lets you use the same username and password on all OpenID enabled websites across the Internet. This means that you don't have to remember different usernames and passwords for different sites. Today thousands of websites supports OpenID and more are getting on board every day.
You can use OpenID to login to Wishlistr — you don't even need to have an account, just sign in!
If you already have a Wishlistr account but want to use your OpenID to login instead, you can. Just sign in with your normal username and password and visit this page to associate an OpenID with your account. If you don't have an OpenID, but want one, you can get it from an OpenID provider, such as myOpenID (it's free).
However, you don't need an OpenID to use Wishlistr. You can still create an account the regular way and login with a username and password, if you prefer.
